Reading List // Black History Month

I really wanted to bring together something for Black History Month, but I couldn’t figure out what to do. I wanted to create a reading list of recommended books, but I lack the expertise and reading experience to recommend books appropriately.

Instead, I decided to create a link up of recommended reading, for myself and for others. Below is a collection of fiction and nonfiction, children/middle grade/YA, and adult books. I hope this list will help you find some new reads.

The Coretta Scott King Book Awards is a good place to start for reading recommendations. This year’s winner includes John Lewis’s highly acclaimed March series.

Final link is, Popular Black History Month Books, from the always “dependable” Goodreads.

Thanks for reading! If you have any books to recommend be sure to leave them in the comments below!

  1. This is a great list! I’ll have to find something I can read this month to do my part. It’s so important that we focus on this history; America wouldn’t be what it is today without people from all over the world helping bring it together. This must be honored.
